This record of that era, lovingly written and wonderfully painted and photographed, has stood the test of time and become a collector's item. The book embraces every narrow gauge then in operation in the US, covers every section of the country, and includes over 300 lines. Also includes an assortment of excellent maps, line drawings by recognized railroad artists, a glossary, bibliography and index. (Beebe met Fogg in NYC at an ALCo party shortly before leaving for the West. This is said to be the first book that used a Howard Fogg painting on the cover.) 368 pages with index.
